NEW YORK, DECEMBER 17, 2015 – Ron Mandel and Gary Lerner, attorneys in Davidoff Hutcher & Citron’s (DHC) land use and litigation practices, respectively, have been named Partners at the New York City law firm.

Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP is one of New York’s leading mid-sized commercial law and government relations firms, with offices in Manhattan, Albany, Long Island, and Washington D.C. Both Mandel and Lerner have been critical to the firm’s recent growth and have reinforced DHC’s industry reputation as a recruiter of top talent.
Mandel handles much of the firm’s real estate development work, with an emphasis on land use and zoning, purchase and sale of development rights, environmental, building and fire codes enforcement, landmarks regulation, and real estate transactional matters. He has appeared before the Board of Standards and Appeals, City Planning Commission, Department of Buildings, Landmarks Preservation Commission, and other regulatory agencies on behalf of private developers and the firm’s institutional clients.

“Ron has been a star from the minute he first joined the firm,” said Jeffrey Citron, Co-Managing Partner at Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP. “He is one of the most outstanding young professionals in the land use area and is recognized as such by both land use attorneys and developers.” Mandel has been recognized by New York Super Lawyers as a “rising star” for the past three years, consecutively. He is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
Lerner’s work focuses on complex commercial litigation. He has nearly 20 years of experience handling a diverse portfolio of issues, ranging from breaches of contract and business torts, to professional liability and theft of trade secrets. He has first-chaired several trials and arbitrations on behalf of DHC, in addition to handling numerous appeals.

“Over the years, Gary has repeatedly demonstrated his abilities as an outstanding litigator and has truly earned the gratitude and respect of all the attorneys at the firm,” Citron said. “He has proven to be an artful attorney, who delivers for his clients and exemplifies what this firm is all about. We are proud to make him a Partner.” Lerner was the recipient of the Legal Aid Society’s Pro Bono Award in 2000. He is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton and New York University School of Law.
