Robert J. Lewis is a Partner in the Matrimonial and Family Law Department at DHC. In over a decade of practice, Mr. Lewis has successfully handled numerous matrimonial matters involving high net worth individuals, celebrities and professional athletes.
He has handled Family Law matters involving current and former professional athletes, and their spouses, in the National Football League (NFL); the National Hockey League (NHL); the National Basketball Association (NBA); and Major League Baseball (MLB) with the utmost respect for their privacy and confidentiality.
Mr. Lewis has extensive experience and proficiency with all issues relating to divorce, including child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support and maintenance (alimony), equitable distribution of property, prenuptial, postnuptial and separation agreements, and same-sex partnerships, marriages, and divorces.
Mr. Lewis has particular experience with respect to:
- Prenuptial agreements, divorces, child support and paternity issues relating to professional athletes and their families
- Divorces involving Hedge Fund and Private Equity Fund professionals
- Custody matters involving special needs children
Mr. Lewis has taught Family Law to students at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
