Mark D. Geraghty has been a partner in Davidoff Hutcher and Citron since 1995 and is primarily engaged in the representation of the major outdoor advertising companies who are active in New York City, including over the years, Clear Channel Outdoor, CBS Outdoor (now Outfront Outdoor) and Lamar Outdoor Advertising as well as many other outdoor advertising companies. He has represented the industry in litigation, acquisitions, divestitures, regulatory matters, and First Amendment litigation, including a successful challenge to New York’s sign laws in Allied Outdoor v. City of New York.
After serving as a Marine Corp Officer on active duty from 1955 to 1957, Mr. Geraghty attended Fordham Law School in the evening, graduating in 1961. Upon graduation he became an associate attorney in Simpson, Thatcher & Bartlett, primarily engaged in litigation, leaving the firm in December 1968 to become a partner in the New York firm of Burke & Burke where he remained for five years. In 1973, he joined Townley, Updike, Carter & Rodgers (later Townley & Updike) as a partner and remained until 1995. During this time, Mr. Geraghty expanded his practice to include corporate transactional and regulatory work. Mr. Geraghty joined Davidoff & Malito (later Davidoff Hutcher & Citron) in 1995 and remains a partner in the firm.
